Spokesman Sindh Rangers said in a statement that the Rangers Quick Response Force (QRF) reached the spot and cordoned off the area on the report of the attack on the Karachi Police Chief’s office.

He said that the Rangers along with the police have started an operation against the terrorists and initially the operation was carried out on the information of the attack by 8 to 10 armed terrorists and their presence there.

SHO Khalid Hussain said that unknown assailants have attacked the Sadar Police Station near the Karachi Police Office and firing is continuing from all sides.

According to DI South Irfan Baloch, the initial information is that the terrorists entered from the rear and a heavy contingent of police and rangers have arrived to take action against them.

According to Karachi Police, Faisal Highway from Awari Tower to Nursery has been closed for traffic from both sides in view of the attack.

Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah has said that the Karachi police chief was not present in the building at the time of the attack and the number of terrorists who attacked is being estimated at six to seven.

He said that six to seven terrorists came in a vehicle and entered the building by throwing grenades and they are currently on the third floor of the Karachi Police Office.

The interior minister said that the Karachi police chief said that the policemen are trying to reach the third floor of the building and the federation will provide all kinds of support to the Sindh police in this regard.

Sindh Governor Kamran Tesuri termed the attack as a cowardly act instead of terrorism and said that this act could have been stopped half an hour earlier but efforts are being made to catch these cowards alive so that their facilitators and handlers are exposed. can go.

He said that this cowardly act during the Pakistan Super League in Karachi cannot be condemned, but our Rangers and police have brought the situation under control and this operation will be finished in a few minutes.

Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Memon said that the terrorists challenging the writ of the government will be dealt a crushing defeat, however, no final word can be said regarding the number of terrorists.

He said that the police force is present inside and outside but no one can get out from here, this attack will prove very costly for the terrorists.

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, taking notice of the attack on the Additional IGs office, has directed the various DIGs to send necessary police force from their respective zones.

He directed that the accused of the attack on the Additional IG’s office should be immediately arrested and the concerned officer should report the incident to me after some time.

Murad Ali Shah said that the attack on Karachi Police Chief’s office is not acceptable under any circumstances.
