The King Fahd Bridge, which connects Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, witnessed a massive rush on Monday. The administration is making continuous efforts to reduce the rush.
Due to the increase in the number of vehicles on the route to Bahrain, the journey time increased from twelve minutes to one hour and eight minutes.
It should be remembered that an increase in the number of travelers has been seen due to every holiday at the end of the second semester in the educational institutions of Saudi Arabia.
On Saturday, 136,458 people crossed the King Fahd Bridge, which is a record. Never before had such a large number of passengers traveled since the construction of the bridge.
Earlier, on January 11, 2020, 131,000 people crossed the bridge.
A record number of passengers crossing the King Fahd Bridge in a 24-hour period on March 4 has been set. Five thousand people traveled on the bridge in one hour and 94 people in one minute.
It should be noted that the management of the King Fahd Bridge, which connects Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, has started the implementation of the project to expand the immigration and customs processing zone.
According to newspaper 24, the administration says that this project will be completed in several stages. The first phase will be completed in three months. Other phases of work will be handled within a year.
The administration has told passengers traveling from Bahrain to Saudi Arabia and from the Kingdom to Bahrain that the expansion project may disrupt the flow of traffic, for which it apologizes.
