Police raids on houses of PTI workers, demand for release of Imran Khan

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf Chairman Imran Khan has condemned the police raids on the houses of PTI leaders and workers in Islamabad and demanded their release.
On Monday, Imran Khan wrote in a tweet that “fascism is at its peak in Islamabad where the police are raiding houses without warrants to arrest our workers.” The workers are not present in the houses and children up to 10 years old are being picked up there.

He added that ‘all our workers and their children who have been kidnapped should be released immediately!’

It should be noted that the police in the capital and Lahore have raided the homes of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf leaders on the charge of rioting on Imran Khan’s court appearance in Islamabad on Saturday.
The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) in Islamabad had registered a case against 18 party leaders, including Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf Chairman Imran Khan, while 18 activists were confirmed to have been arrested on the spot.
According to the statement issued by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf on Sunday, “Islamabad police searched the house of Senator Shibli Faraz and harassed his family and employees.”

Senator Shibli Faraz was not present in Islamabad during the raid.

Police also raided the house of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Islamabad Region President Ali Nawaz Awan, but he was not present at home.
Police also raided the house of Shafqat Mahmood and Musrat Jamshed Cheema in Lahore.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf leader Asad Umar also said in a tweet that a large-scale operation is underway in Islamabad. Workers of Tehreek-e-Insaaf are being arrested and their families are being harassed.
Earlier, Federal Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah condemned a tweet of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Shireen Mazari regarding the police and said that legal action will be taken against it.
